Eric Yang is an award-winning Taiwanese-American Writer/Director based in New York.

Eric is a bilingual screenwriter and director from Taiwan. He focuses on writing and directing character-driven genre stories that fuses Asian mythologies with western fantasy.

Eric's feature screenplay, HOPING, is a recipient of the 2022 Sloan Screenplay award and a finalist at the ScreenCraft True Story Screenplay Competition 2023.

Eric's Short film, Put To Sleep, is a finalist at the ScreenCraft Short Film Screenplay Competition 2023, Best Student Short at Indie Short Fest, Hong Kong Indie Film Festival, and is included in various film festival all around the world.

Eric's TV Pilot, Primordials, is a recipient of the 2023 Faculty Selects at Columbia University as one of the best screenplays written by a graduate that year.

After receiving his BA in Creative Writing from University of Washington, he joined Columbia University’s Film MFA Program, focusing on directing and TV writing. Eric has extensive independent film production experience in Seattle, New York City, and Taiwan.
